WPPI U {Photo Convention}

Mid August I went to WPPI U where I learned a few news things, picked up some marketing DVDs, won a free canvas (whoop) and got to meet a lot of great people, including my wedding photographer idols Zach & Jody Gray (seen below).

My Vegas trip will be put in two different blogs

          1. WPPI U
          2. Las Vegas

(All these shots are from my iPhone).

I event for them to autograph the marketing DVD I picked up.

This is Sal and Taylor, who I watched on creativeLIVE while they taught how to shoot, sell and market to seniors in high school.

Sal also doubled as the host of WPPI U.

It's Sue Bryce. I saw her first at WPPI in February and then watched her again on creativeLIVE showing off her glamor photography.

Miss Lindsay Adler, a fashion photographer who I first met at WPPI in February then watched her on creativeLIVE.

It's ZACH again. =)

Birth, Baby & Bonding Fair {Events}

I had a ton of fun at the Birth, Baby & Bonding Fair with some fellow vendor gals Sandie Gilbert (Independent Consultant for Mary Kay & Co-owner of G & G Blooms), Page Gilbert (Owner of Clearly Unique Designs & Co-owner of G & G Blooms) and Tara Phillips (Independent Consultant for Thirty-One).

The day was filled with many new moms, pregnant women, the daddy's & many children of all ages. Besides tons of vendors the attendees were able to check out a fashion show, vote for the best breastfeeding photo (from the top 10) and pick up a ton of FREE stuff, not to mention win some great raffle prizes.

Above & Below: A shot of most of the room filled at the opening of the event, which was help at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel in Stockton.

These cute little beanies were made by a company called Kozee Kabootees. They also carry cloth diapers essentials, nursing covers and much more. If you are interested in some of their work they can be contacted at kozeekabootees@gmail.com & can be found on facebook HERE.

Just one of the MANY bags Ms Tara had on site to show off for new Mommy's from the Thirty-One collection, which is coming out with a new fall catalog within the next month.
During the event she was also collecting names to add to her new endeavour of baby registers, where new Mommy's could sign up with a wish list and Tara would make cards to mail out to friends and family who could purchase off the wish list for baby showers.
For more information email at taralynnlynn@yahoo.com or you can join her facebook group HERE.

This table was filled with TONS of cute little bows and of course the Disney ones stood out for me.
The company who makes then is called Abby's BowTique and can be contacted at abbys.bowtique@yahoo.com & you can find them on facebook HERE.

Every mom wants to look their best event after have a baby so independent stylist Melanie Figueroa Christensen was on hand with her collection of Stella & Dot. She can be found on facebook HERE or online HERE.

Also at the event were many informational tables and hospitals. These yummy treats were from Dameron Hospital.

Half way through the day many women and their children strutted the catwalk during a fashion show with clothes from Old navy Maternity, jewelry from Stella & Dot, bags from Thirty-one and bows & diaper covers from Abby's BowTique & Kozee Kabootees, respectively.

One of the final things that took place was the announcement of the winners from the breastfeeding contest. A winner was picked for best armature photo (far left), professional photo (middle) and people's choice (far right).

Successful Thinkers -- Aug. 1 {Meetings}

This was a fun meeting where Malia (the co-head ambassador) had four members of the group come to the front a read off motivational quotes to have the rest of the rest relay back to build up momentum towards the activity, which replaced a speaker for the week.

Danny (pictured above) gave off his own quote, but no one knew until Malia asked him to reveal the person who said the quote and he said "myself." This got some laughs.

Then he went on to say "I got all of you."

Ahmad (pictured below) stood up in front of the group to pick up a gift card since he was the one member who brought the most newbies to the meetings in the month of July.

After the beginning announcements and inspirational quotes Annie (co-lead ambassador pictured above) and Malia went on to talk about vision/dream boards, which the group has been working on for the past month or so.

Here are the notes from the presentation from Sandie Gilbert:

What you focus on expands
  • Happiness isn't by chance but by choice

    Your dreams, visions, goals, and plans -
    You have to write it down
    Dream in color

    Confess it - other people support what you do - spread the news
