Succsessful Thinkers -- April 25 {Meetings}

Finally caught up on the Successful Thinkers meetings.

These are shots and notes from April 15 where Chris Roe, who is one of the ambassador for the Young Successful Thinkers.

The first three shots of just some of the Successful Thinker ambassadors during the introduction part of the meeting.

Below: Louise Umeki is the vice president of relations of Successful Thinkers, Inc. and she introduced Chris Roe for his presentation.

Here are the notes from the meeting from fellow member and Mary Kay consultant Sandie Gilbert.

Promoting Young Successful Thinkers

Young people today need direction and a focus for their life and future. As an example, Chris, himself, had no direction and didn't know what he wanted to do with his life. He began attending Successful Thinkers, but not participating. Now, he not only plays an integral part, he has become an ambassador, speaking to various groups to promote Young Successful Thinkers for high school, college and young adult individuals.

He states being an entrepreneur is an example of "owning one's life" as opposed to "renting one's life" while working for corporate America.

He believes he can influence young people by asking questions to begin thought provoking discussions.

- How can we help you today?
- What would be different in your life today if you had this experience at 18 years old?
- What was your dream as a kid?
- What one thing would you tell the next generation?

Some college students feel that as long as they complete their course work and earn a degree then a job is a given. In our society today, that is not to be taken for granted. One must either decide to become an entrepreneur or go after finding a job. You must "stick out in the stack" according to Chris. There are jobs for those who make the decision to be a go-getter.

After the presentation by Chris, Louise came up again to talk about mastery for Women, another group which links to Successful Thinkers. Kate (left) and Pilar (not photographed) are steeping away from lead ambassador of the Stockton Successful Thinkers to be the leads for the Stockton Mastery for Women, which began within this past month.

Below: Malia Cash-Taylor, who is stepping up at one of two lead ambassadors for the Stockton Successful Thinkers.

The final two shots are two ambassadors who are talking about the nine steps of Success and the One-on-One meetings.

Miss Tasha {Portraits}

I did a group shoot (with what was going to be three girls, but one had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts). Also due to weather we had been putting off this shoot for a few weeks, but we finally got it in the books and went through with the shoot minus one girl.

We did a few locations (mainly Woodbridge), which I scouted out prior to the shoot and did outfit chances for each set-up.

Here is Tasha, who I have shot before with her son.

Sucessfull Thinkers -- April 18 {Meetings}

The meeting on April was smaller than normal, but had a wonderful speaker again with notes by Mary Kay consultant Sandie Gilbert.

Leroy Roosevelt Louis Jr.

Power of Your Personal Influence

The only responsibility you can't evade is your personal influence.
Your conscious influence when you're trying to persuade people to your way of thinking is a very small in the total of your influence.
When you are not consciously attempting to influence others your power is amazingly huge based on the effect of your words and actions.
It is the silent, subtle radiation of your personality.

People have atmosphere although they may forget it exists. It may be used for good or evil by radiating any quality such as happiness, morbidity, sadness, sunshine, cheer, optimism, hope, or rebellion.

These ideas were derived in part from an article by William George Jordan.

The rest of the photos this week are members talking about the nine steps (which I will highlight in another blog post), community announcements, and the one-on-ones.

Successful Thinkers 3/14 {Meetings}

I have been a little behind on my business meeting posts. Last month Sandie Gilbert (a Mary Kay consultant) and I went to another meeting with the Successful Thinkers group and the more we go the more we love it.
That week the speaker talked about health (and I will have Sandie's notes later on the the blog) with some fitness touches from other members of the group.

As always the meeting starts with any ambassadors coming to the front to talk a little bit about why they came to the group and chose to be an ambassador for ST.

Below is a shot during the main presentation done by fellow ST member Celese

Here are the notes from Sandie from the presentation:

Hi,

I hope you're having a great day!

Celese did a wonderful presentation on leading a healthy life.

First she shared that essentially 8 out of every 10 people are sick in one form or another.

She gave us a handle on identifying how healthy we actually are as follows:

- Green light - Excellent health
- Yellow light - You think you are healthy, including allergies, stiff in the mornings, a little overweight, etc
- Red light - Physical crisis, such as diagnosed illness, diabetes, arthritis, surgery, obese, etc

$2 trillion per year is spent on treating chronic conditions not preventing disease.

Almost every chronic condition may be controlled rather than treated.

Follow these practices to lead a healthy life:

- eat healthy - create a colorful plate including more of the right stuff
- exercise - move more - goal of 10,000 steps a day (you can use a pedometer)
- water - drink water - 1/2 your weight = ounces of water per day needed
- supplementation - need due to loss of nutrients in crops, junk food, excess fats and sweets in diet
- YOU are in charge

Soy is a healthy addition to diet but check for highest grade and use of chemicals in processing technique.

Above is fellow member Karen, who talked a little bit about the physical side. She also participated in the Boston Marathon this year.

Below: Here are just a few more photos of other members during the meeting.

I'm hoping real soon to have a LODI Successful Thinkers group open. We have been looking at Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Shawnte's Bridal Shower {Events}

I had the pleasure of shoot Shawnte's bridal shower about a week ago. It was themed like a tea luncheon where guests enjoyed the sunny weather (it had been raining nearly every day for almost a week prior to the shower), great food, and a surprise from the groom.

The bride-to-be and her mother planned every detail of the shower to the photos and tea cups on the table, to the two-course meal and bubbles for the flowers girls & ring bearer to keep entertained.

Most of the shots I have edtied it with a vintage feel -- I think it gives a little more to the photos for the theme of the party.

These two girls (pictured together above on the right side and just one of them below) brought so much character to the day. The bride-to-be picked out purple hats and long white gloves with purple ribbon for each of the three flower girls.

Towards the end of the event we got the remainder of the corwn together for one large group shot.
