Fashion

So I tried some modeling shots for one of my major projects during the spring semester and some turned okay -- but it was slightly visible that I wasn't a fashion photographer. I had a lot of fun doing it and for the lighting class we had to do fashion again.

I posted a message on myspace so I could get someone to drive all the way to Sac and try some shots in the studio -- although we can do the fashion on location. A few people answered and I got my friend Kat (from High school) for Tuesday's shoot in the studio...

This is how some of my stuff turned out.

Then I played around and made this....

I'm planning on getting together today with another friend from high school and set up something with Kim (A girl I met a little over a year through another friend, who has done some modeling before)on Friday. Hers I will be doing on location.

Products

Here are some products I have done the last three weeks and plan to turn in tomorrow for the second submission for the lighting class.

Starting something new

Well I have seen many people I go to school with do blogs throughout school or a trade (such as photography). I plan to began doing so now, not that many might want to read, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I'm heading into my final semester (after summer) at Sac State as a double major in photo and journalism -- I have two courses during the summer (one being general ed and the other being a studio lighting class, which is something so new to me.)

So far my best photography work has been sports, although I've drifted away with the journalism stuff. I was the sports editor the State Hornet for the last year and a staff writer (in sports) the year before. I did some photography for the Hornet (mainly gymnastics and softball), but now I'm not going back to the Hornet and I can focus more on my photography, which is probably the best thing since photography is the field I would LOVE to work in.

I'm still figuring out what I want to do in the long run in life (I make around 20 bucks an hour being a server (with wages and tips), which is great, but not something I want to do forever.

I plan to use this throughout my summer (photo) class and final semester and show some of my work. I will try to go to some Hornet games to get more sports photos since I just got a Canon 40D last Wed.
