Sneak Peek {Family}

Nichole and Seth bought their mother a photoshoot for Mother's day and we nailed down the date and got the session in the books.

Here are three little shots to give a tease to the family from the shoot.

WPPI -- Classes & Concert {Big Event}

I've been a little behind with posting with my trip to WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers), but when I go to WPPI U (I'm hoping to get the days off since I won a FREE ticket (valued at $250) from The Joy of Marketing) in August for the two-day event I plant to be more on task with posting my experiences.

While in Vegas I will also be seeing the Phantom of the Opera with my sister-in-law Page thanks to our moms for getting us tickets to the show since it will no longer reside in Vegas after September of this year.

Back to this post in hand -- My photo friend Joleen and I went to WPPI in February (yeah that's how late I am on these posts) and I had a TON of fun. I went to as many classes as I could, went to some networking parties, and saw the town.

Here are some of the shots from a few classes I went to and the concert I won tickets to (my friends say I'm pretty lucky -- and at time I can be pretty lucky, but there's times where I'm not so lucky).

Above & Below: During the presentation by Justin and Mary, Mary gave out a gift to this family -- a trip to DISNEYWORLD (how awesome). Below shows off the hat the photographers had made for the little one to wear during her first experience in the land of the mouse.

Lindsay Adler, fashion flair photographer (who I also listened to on creativeLIVE with two different presentations) shows off one of the lens flair items in her "Think Outside of the Box" kit, which she gave away during her class (and no I didn't win it -- wish I had).

Sue Bryce before she started her presentation -- I also got to listen/watch her on creativeLIVE during my birthday too.

During one of the classes about 100 or so tickets were placed under the 300-400 seats for the exclusive concert with Ingrid Michaelson (HERE is a video clip where she sang "The Way I Am" during the sneak peek in the course).

Vendor Events {Heritage Oak Winery}

I recently was a part of a wonderful event at the Heritage Oak Winery. KarynLynne Photography was just one of 14 vendor booths.

Before the event began for the public I went around to each booth and took some shots to share on my blog. After the vendor shots were done I went around the winery and got some shots of the flowers, animals and surroundings.

Tom and Carmela Hoffman, owners of the winery also hosts images of nature artists inside their tasting room, which I will be a part of coming in January of 2013 from Jan. 5-April 6.

Below: After a few hours of the event the band Stephanie D Trio began to play for a few hours at the winery.

The rest of the photos are shots throughout the winery, which include random tidbits, flowers, and animals.

I thought these signs were cute.

These lovely flowers were right behind my booth and tons of butterflies swarmed the pink flowers in the morning hours.

Just a shot of a tower in the back of the winery.

While exploring the winery I came across this cute little cottontail bunny. He was super scared of me and I wasn't able to get too close.

In the middle of the shot there's one of the five hawks that live on site at the winery. This was just one of photo opportunities where I wish I had my telephoto lens on hand.

Also behind my booth was hummingbird feeders. Again wishing I had my telephoto lens on hand because every time I got remotely close the little birds would fly away. I stuck around for a bit for get these shots.

Successful Thinkers - May 13 {Meetings}

Another week went by and another great meeting with the Stockton Successful Thinkers group.

Since December I have gotten to some of these women and men and the group and grown to truly like them. They not only come to share their own knowledge, but to help advance each other in our personal and business lives.

I feel like the group has gotten pretty lively since Malia Cash-Taylor and Annie Lee have taken over and I can't wait for the group to grow and to get to know more of the members of this "Successful" group.

Above: Malia opens the meeting as always with open arms, welcoming new members, current members and the speaker of the day. She is one of the two lead ambassadors for the Stockton Successful Thinkers group, but after her Wednesday hours and the meeting she works on flowers, money lays, and some tasty food as the owner of Hawaiian Legacy Catering & Design.

Above: A member of the Stockton Successful Thinkers group announces the arrival of the speaker of the day: Robert Chandler (pictured below)

Fellow member Sandie Gilbert part owner of G & G Blooms & independent consultant for Mary Kay took notes during Roberts speech:

Can you hear? Make sure back row can hear you.

Effective Communication

My philosophy regarding communication whether you agree or not which is after all, communication.

All living creatures experience communication but not to the extent that humans do.

Human accomplishments speak to the effectiveness of communication.

Communication may also be non spoken. Appreciation of nature, art, music, geology, etc.

Cave paintings dated 25,000 years ago which communicated events before written language.

Communication with very young - poems, music, actions, things overheard.
Be careful what you say because it may be hurtful. Think of a way to change a possibly bad habit in a constructive manner.

Vocabulary usage is important to expand your mind and those to whom speak.

Reading is an essential part of communication including audio books.
"Just Listen" by Goulston.

Be concise and to the point so you will be effective in writing and presenting. Don't waste your client's time. Ask for the order!

Don't be harsh on yourself. You are of great worth. Forgive yourself for mistakes. Treat yourself in miraculous ways!

Below: Karen McGough Messersmith, an independent Wellness Consultant at NIKKEN talked to the group about how important one-on-ones can be to get to know, like and trust a person before going straight into business with them.

Ella Holman, a Stockton Ambassador talked about two of the nine steps to success.

Grace Capon Aquino, a fairly new member to Successful Thinkers and Vice President of Operations at Mobility Express Home Care and Transportation Services brought a book to share for the book club which Annie Lee created.

She brought the book "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" by T Harv Eker.

You might be wondering why my logo isn't on the photographs on list post. Since Successful Thinkers/Mastery for Women isn't about promoting your own business, but in helping build others.

As any other photographer would I still placed a watermark so the photos can't be reproduced without consent from the artist.

Therefore in the future all other Successful Thinkers or Mastery for Women meeting with only have the watermark so it isn't insinuated that I am posting these blogs to only promote myself, but the people who attend the meetings.

Conner {School Portraits}

I had the opportunity to use my new studio set-up my husband bought me for Christmas last year to create my dear friend's son's fourth grade school portraits.

Conner is a playful kid full of energy. The second we got down to business he was like a busy little bee moving from one pose to the next. He had smiles, funny faces, made some jokes, but most of all we had a blast.

We took some normal "school shots," but also had some fun with jumping & had great laughs.
