Successful Thinkers - May 30 {Meetings}

The first photos for this weeks Successful Thinkers blog is the Stockton ambassadors who were in attendance.

I always love getting some smiles, laughter and fun reactions when people speak. 

Malia Cash Taylor of Hawaiian Legacy Catering & Design gives a warm welcome to Gary Washburn (below in yellow) of Successful Thinkers ShingleSprings/Cameron Park.

Here are the notes from fellow Successful Thinker member Sandie Gilbert, who is a consultant for Mary Kay.

Washburn spoke about:

"7 Habits to Develop in Our Life that will Rock Your World"

Habits drive our lives!

1. Live every day on purpose. You were born for a reason - to make a dream come true.

2. Feed your brain with good stuff. Read positive material daily. Such as "As A Man Thinketh" by Allen,  "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Covey, "Promptings" by Bateman, "The Slight Edge:  Secret to a Successful Life" by Olson, "Chi Running," "Chi Walking:  Fitness Walking for Lifelong Health and Energy" by Dreyer. 

3. Work your body by exercising daily.

4. Write in a journal every day. Two types of journals are "gratitude" or "questions" journals.

5. Take charge of your day.

6. Act on your promptings. When you think of an idea of kindness do it right then.

7. Send out gratitude. One can make a commitment for 30 days to say thank you, send a card, etc to share your gratitude with others.

Consistency make these activities into habits.

Ariel went up to talk about two of the nine steps to be Successful.

Karen McGough Messersmith, who is an independent Wellness Consultant at NIKKEN talk about the new book club which is in it's third week. Anyone who wants to bring a book to share, which can be helpful tips, motivational, or just a good read.

Below: Pilar Tobias, who is one of the two lead Ambassadors (along with Kate Song) for the Central Valley Mastery for Women came up to talk about the luncheon which took place last Friday.

Successful Thinkers - May 23 {Meetings}

As always Sandie's notes are below with the speaker of the day, but this post is more of a photographic meeting rather than a bunch of text.

I've run a little behind of the meeting posts, due to some seminars I've attended, session I've shot. This is from the May 23 meeting and in the next couple days I will have the post from May where Gary Washburn  of Successful Thinkers Shingle Springs/Cameron Park. He talked about the "7 Habits to Develop in Our Life that will Rock Your World."

One embraces people, ideas, and humanity.

Gilbert/Bowles -- Mother Time {Family}

As a Mother's Day gift Sandie (red and white flower dress) gave her daughter-in-law Page a photo session. The session Included Page, her own mother (Pat), her mother-in-law (Sandie) and her daughter Jewels.

I shot in a new location - which will be open to future shoots, but is a private residence.

Some areas had beautiful colors with the flowers and some had a lot of sun flair so I used an action to give the photos a vintage look.

The Lee Family {Mommy & Me}

Annie (the daughter) contacted me about getting a session in the book during the month of May for her mother.

She realized after Mother's Day passed she didn't really have many photos of her mother. The session was done in the comfort of her own home, which was super lovely. 



Above: Loved this shot with this blanket because it was so colorful and has a lot to do with the families culture.

Below: The pair together for the next two shots. 

Above: I loved all the beautiful saying throughout the home.

Below: There were so many spots in front of the home and in the backyard.

The was a little bit of a language barrier since the mother didn't speak English, but with Annie's help throughout part of the session I had a blast with them both and "Mommy" did a great job understanding me without any words. =)

Above: I always love to play with things, such as flowers, leaves, trees in the foreground and during the shoot I found out Annie likes the idea of it too.

Sneak Peek {Family}

Wednesday I took out the Gilbert/Bowles family out to a new location (the Drebinger garden/tree grove).

Here are two sneak peek from the shoot, which was a Mother's Day gift to Page. The shoot with her mother, mother-in-law and daughter.

Mastery for Women May 10 {Meetings}

Early this month I went to a meeting for Mastery for Women, which is part of The group meets at two different time -- once for a lunch and once for a dinner.

These shots were taken during the lunch event with a presentation from Kate Song and self defence.

Above: Pillar, one of the leads of the central valley chapter of Mastery for Women opens the meeting.

Fellow member Jessica shows off her hat, which is a little teaser for what's to come at the dinner set for May 25 at 5:30 p.m. in celebrating women.

Kate Song, the other lead for the central valley chapter of Mastery for Women was the presenter of the day and gave helpful hints to women safe throughout the day and night.

Kate, C.E.O of Kateys Kandles gave some demonstrations.

Be aware of your surroundings ALWAYS!

Tips for personal safety

- Keep your keys in your hand
- Stay in well-lit areas
- Look around and under your car
- At stoplights look around
- If you get bumped into by another car, don't get out of car! Hold up information through window
- While walking, hold your head up, shoulders back, look confident - DON'T look like a victim
- Don't keep credit cards, ID, etc. in one place
- Don't use a cell phone while you're walking
- Look right at would be attackers
Fear
- Mental fear holds you back. You need to move past it.
- Instinctual fear protects you so trust it.
